Requirement

Cyber Media is South Asia's largest specialty media house, with nine publications in the infotech, telecom, consumer electronics and biotech areas; and an end-to-end media value chain including the internet, events and television.

   

Project Brief

As business grew globally, it became important that the personnel who were interacting with customers and traveling be well versed in the etiquette and appropriate cultural conduct of the country that they were traveling to. This was important for the business to succeed as a global player.

   

Technical

The content was provided by a leading Subject Matter Expert affiliated to the leading management school of the country. The challenge was to convert the content into an engaging interactive e-learning module that would help the users learn and appreciate the cultural differences and nuances of interaction with various cultures. The solution used extensive detailed graphics, animations and representations of different work scenarios. This helped the user visualize and create the mental image of appropriate behavior instead of just reading about it. The media strategy of the module was such that it catered to the different learning styles. The module also provided the user with reference in "sticky notes”. These are tools that the learner could use to pose their questions. This reference guide had answers to most of the commonly asked questions and also provided additional information on the topic. Upon completion of the module, the user was given a set of knowledge check questions - this was not meant to assess the user but rather serve as a reinforcement of the learning in the module.

The development team turned around a winning solution in less than 6 weeks calendar time from the design to implementation phase.
